M.I.A. raised eyebrows back in February when she rocked a sheer black polka-dotted dress and performed 9 months pregnant (yup you read that right, 9 months!) at the Grammy Awards. It looks like the singer-rapper is back at it, this time using her twitter to debut pictures of her 2-month old son Ikhyd, in a mini version of the House of Holland dress that caused so much commotion.
The photo hosted by image software Twitpic was directed to Henry Holland’s twitter account, the lead designer for the House of Holland line, just two days ago with cleverly titled caption, “LIL THINGS POPPIN.” Nice.
A mural by Brazilian street artist duo, Otavio and Gustavo Pandolfo or more commonly known as simply Os Gemeos, was completed this week in New York City to an audience of anticipated artists, vidoegraphers and curious passerby’s. The twin artist brothers even sat and posed with their completed work. The up-close photos, courtesy of Death from Above, show the incredible detail of the loud and colorful mural. If I could be in New York right now, I would head straight to Bowery street and Houston to see this baby up close.
Incredible. I can’t even comprehend how much coordination and the kind of clearly planned out vision it took for directors Masashi Kawamura, Hal Kirkland, Magico Nakamura, Masayoshi Nakamura to put together this work of genius. It really took my breath away. Enjoy.
My best friends from the Arctic came to visit me in Vancouver and my friend Emily bought an awesome white bob wig to wear at a music festival she’s heading to in a few weeks.
I’m lucked out by banking a summer job at my favorite retailer in the world, H&M. So far, the people at work have made the day to day grind a lot of fun, especially since so many of the people who work there are extremely creative and in tune with city living. But on another level, the job hasn’t really been substantially revealing considering the brand is one of today’s biggest leaders in everyday affordable fashion wear. I mean, I’m not really getting any kind of inside scoops (but I do get a discount).
Thankfully, real stylists (as opposed to the aspiring types) are getting sneak peaks and sharing their exclusives with the world via their personal blogs! Hollywood stylist to the stars Monica Rose, shared these pics she snapped at the H&M showroom where she was getting ideas and looks together for one of her exclusive clients, Kim Kardashian and the hosts of the Daily 10.
Rye Rye‘s new video for her single “Bang” was released this week and was directed by none other than her musical momma and mentor, the incomparable M.I.A. It’s no surprise that the video is a huge mash up of colors, neon signs and throw back dance moves set at some kind of downtown hipster party in Rye Rye’s home town of Baltimore. However she did it, M.I.A. makes me want to jiggy next to Rye Rye’s 80’s throwback friends.
